Width: 106 feet
Draft: 25 feet 7 inches
Guest capacity: 1380

The MS Amsterdam has no rudders. The azipod propellers can rotate 360 degrees on their axes. The direction of the ship is controlled by varying the direction of the propellers, similar to an outboard motor boat. Together with the bow thrusters, this gives the MS Amsterdam tremendous manoeuvrability, allowing her to dock without the aid of tugs, or to turn on a dime when faced with an ice berg.

Sliding sideways in to the dock is a capability that would come in handy in a car when trying to park downtown.
